What is the simplest (and cheapest) way of setting up a test environment so I can functionally test my SIP applications? I may also want to load test the applications as well.

Hi HAVENBRIDGE,

Thanks for posting your question.

The simplest (and the cheapest) way to set up a test environment really depends on what you want to do.

For example:
Item 1:
Do you want to simply verify that your applications function with the proxies?

Item 2:
Do you want to test a real world unrestricted enterprise deployment?

If you want to go the absolute cheapest route, you should get trial version of the proxy products. Go to the following URL to learn how to do this:

You can request a trial of the different proxy “product grades” and test with them. Trials are good for 30 days and then they die.

If you do not want to go the trial software route then:

For Item 1
The cheapest way for you to test your applications with the proxy products is to purchase “personal” versions of the proxy products. I think the pair go for around USD$230. Check out the product grade differences at these URLs:

Centrex Proxy Info

Media Proxy Info

For Item 2
If you want to additionally load test the proxies with your VOIP applications, you should think about purchasing the Enterprise versions of the proxies. They impose no call load limitations like the Professional and Personal version do. The limitation is network processing and overall CPU grunt.

Here is another post that talks about system loading you might find useful:

Feel free to post more info so that we may help you further.
