* What is the difference between concurrent calls and concurrent sessions? Is your media gateway priced on sessions or calls?

* If we use your media server, do we still need a media gateway for the PSTN access?

Hi akshinthala,

Thanks for posting your questions. We moved your post to this location because your questions relate to our VOIP server products and not the VOIP Media Engine product. We assume you are asking questions about our VOIP Media Proxy server product. Note that this product is not a PSTN gateway but is a VOIP media proxy for NAT traversal.

As far as the VOIP Media Proxy is concerned, the number of concurrent calls it can handle is the same thing as the number of concurrent sessions if each VOIP call has a single media stream associated with it.

The VOIP Media Proxy is sold in three different product grades. The differences in product grade types can be found here:

The pricing information for the different grades of the VOIP Media Proxy is located here:

Yes you will require a “PSTN gateway” if you want to initiate and receive calls to/from land lines or cell phones. Note that if you use our VOIP Media Proxy, you must deploy it with our SIP proxy server products. See the following URL for SIP proxy products:
